SDG 12 Global Social

PROJECT REPORT OF JULIENNE TREMPERT'S SCHOOL CLASS AT THE KAULSDORF COMMUNITY SCHOOL
The students in class 5a at the Kaulsdorf Community School have worked intensively on the sustainability goal SDG 12. Together with their partner Bayasgalant, they researched sustainable consumption across disciplines (e.g. in German, English, works, geography and art) in Mongolia. As part of a self-experiment, the students made storage baskets out of newspaper, which turned out to be not that easy. The results were incorporated into the creation of the sustainability song, which highlights the importance of recycling, upcycling, second hand and equal treatment. This not only applies to everyday items, but especially to the use of electronic devices such as smartphones and laptops. The message is clear: recycling and repairing are essential, buying new only in an emergency! The text resulting from the posters was then translated into Mongolian and set to music by a Mongolian school class from the Deutsch-Mongolisches Tor NRW e.V association.
